Overview | Main Menu |
When I asked the couple Stefanie and Gustavo if they had a specific theme for the wedding they mentioned that Saul Trumpet, a well-known jazz musician in Curitiba, would be playing at the party.
The final invitation took the shape of an album cover and was inspired by the iconic Blue Note covers designed by Reid Miles, well-known for their tinted black & white photographs, sans-serif typefaces and frequent use of solid rectangular bands of colour or white, influenced by the Bauhaus school of design.
The title 'Chega de Saudade' (Enough of longing) references João Gilberto’s debut album, considered the first Bossa Nova record. The Blue Note logo and other cover details are referenced in the final design, which also offers a song list on the back cover and the actual invitation as a separate piece inside.
