Overview | Main Menu |
Mário da Silva is a classical guitar player from Brazil, whose work focuses on contemporary music. For this CD Mário commissioned several Brazilian composers to create original pieces responding to the title, and the final result is a surprising repertoire brought to life by Mário.
Besides his 'serious' background in classical music, Mário has a penchant for humour and was very open to graphic ideas. The title of the album urged for some playfulness and we 'deconstructed' the cover by putting an image of Mario playing the guitar, but without the actual instrument. The lyrics pages show a composition in which close-up details of the guitar are interlaced with the text, everything arranged on a deconstructed grid.
