Overview | Main Menu |
In Brazil, I used to sing in an a cappella vocal trio called Noivas do Allfreddo (Alfreddo's fiancees). We did quite experimental work in which we explored vocal timbres, rhythms and dissonances, and had a repertoire that ranged from traditional 'modinhas' (a type of sentimental love song) to contemporary music.
For our second concert we wanted to emphasise the idea of the three voices. We had a very low budget and decided to keep everything in black and white. Simple.
Three giant mouths – one from each singer – were used to promote the group. To increase the impact of the promotion, we created a teaser campaign two months before the concert, in which the poster was displayed without any explanatory text. A couple of weeks later we replaced the posters with similar ones, but now containing all the details for the gig. The promotion worked well and several people who hadn't heard about the group confessed coming to the show out of curiosity generated by the posters.
