The Works Ebbw Vale
Explaining the creation of a
Welsh eco-town

previous pagenext page

The Works is an initiative of the Welsh Assembly Government that has decided to transform the defunct steelworks site in Ebbw Vale into an eco-town.

During the first phase of the project, four prototype ecological houses were built, each with a different design and exploring low-energy approaches. These houses can be visited by the public and we were asked by Blaenau-Gwent Council to create an exhibition explaining the project and the specific features of each house.

The exhibition takes the shape of totems (placed at the entrance of each house), house-shaped panels (highlighting specific features) and a collection of large panels explaining the project and the architecture of each house. We also designed an accompanying booklet that visitors can take home.
