Urban Age
Conference material for a worldwide investigation into the future of cities

previous pagenext page

The Urban Age Programme is an international investigation of the spatial and social dynamics of cities. Over ten conferences have taken place in major cities around the world since 2005, allowing the debate of major issues such as environmental equity, social inclusion, the problems of housing and migration, the global economy and the informal sector, as well as public transport, public space and social capital.

Each conference is marked by the publication of a special newspaper containing critical essays by local experts and international commentators. The grid was designed to be flexible and allow for a quick design (each issue has to be designed in a few days!) Bold typography and the use of specially commissioned photography contribute to an editorial look, which is supplemented by a startling data section full of comparative maps and charts.
